dGB invites you to the OpenTect Breakfast Presentation

7:30am to 9:00am

Located At The Write Room At 535 16th Street In Denver

OpendTect and the Denver Geophysical Society are collaborating to provide a downtown breakfast (and coffee! 🙂 ) talk on the OpendTect Seismic Interpretation Software and you are invited.

What is OpendTect:

It is a free and complete seismic interpretation software that can be easily downloaded and installed from the internet (visit www.dgbes.com for more information, or to get a head start installing OpendTect).

OpendTect can be extended with plugins which range from handy tools to high-end processing, interpretation and inversion technologies.

In the breakfast talk we will touch the following points:

  • Functionality included in the free version and if you have not done it yet, how to download and install the OpendTect from the internet. The free version includes all tools needed to complete a standard seismic interpretation workflow, and much more.
  • Give an overview of the plugins that are most applicable to US onshore and unconventional projects. This will touch, among others, on seismic data conditioning, pre-stack analysis, fault and fracture attributes, horizon tracking using seismic dips, machine learning, and seismic inversion.

OpendTect is represented in Denver by Friso Brouwer, and he will co-present at this meeting with Kristoffer Rimaila, geoscientist from the OpendTect office in Houston. After the talk they will be available to answer your questions about OpendTect one on one, or to assist you downloading the software and a demo dataset.

Training:

To complement the talk, a set of hands-on training sessions will be organized in the same week. See https://prostore.dgbes.com/opendtect-training-denver.htmlfor the schedule and more information.
