About The Course:
Typical geosteering classrooms focus on proficiency within a selected program. This class is different; we will break down the underlying science of geosteering, and use it as a platform to establish through best practices for operational geosteering. The first half of this course will be a lecture, stepping through the science of tool physics, environment recognition, differences between lateral and vertical-oriented tools, measurement accuracy, geosteering methodologies, and navigational risk management. For the second half of the course, participants will use their geosteering program of choice to apply the concepts for practical use.
