2025 DGS Scholarship Program

Starting in 2025, we are introducing $2,500 scholarships to be awarded to students in Colorado doing geophysical work at university. To be considered for the scholarship, please send an email to [email protected] with the following information:

  1. Name and School
  2. Expected graduation date
  3. Geophysical project/thesis/work (paragraph)
  4. Why you need $2,500
  5. Future career goals

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year and awarded as the Executive Committee deems good fits. We will be visiting campuses to help promote the scholarships and answer any questions, events TBD. Once awarded, the student must commit to sharing the relevant work at either a monthly DGS luncheon or the 3Dss in March (annual conference) in Denver.

We are very excited to be able to offer these funds to students as a way of supporting our local community and keeping Denver-area geophysics strong and thriving well into the future! For any questions, please contact Andrew at [email protected] or Jess at [email protected].

3DSS Abstract Deadline Extended

Dear Colleagues,

Great news! The deadline for submissions for the 3D Seismic Symposium has been extended to December 4. The theme this year is “Expanding Our Bandwidth” and will again be held at the Ellie Caulkins Loft in Denver. New developments and expansion into evolving fields such as CCUS, geothermal, helium, or engineering geophysics will be of great interest.

We love an interesting story and are always looking for case studies!

Presentations are 20 minutes long in Power Point format. Please keep in mind that material can be communicated without giving away key proprietary information.
